Many congratulations to Dr Laura Diment, now @dickinsonlab at the University of Southampton, who on Tuesday 25th February successfully defended her thesis “Modelling thermoregulation for prosthetic design”, and thanks to examiners Dr Amy Zavatsky and Prof Anthony Bull @ImperialBioeng. Co-supervised with @JeroenBergmann of Oxford Natural Interactions Lab. Well done Laura!

Welcome to Carla Fuenteslopez who joins us having completed the MSc in Nanotechnology for Medicine here in Oxford. Carla will be co-supervised with Cathy Ye at the Tissue Engineering Group and will be looking at in vitro models for trauma.

Fabio Bianchi received minor corrections following his viva on 16th January. His publication record is also increasing with recent articles in Med Eng Phys “Engineering a uniaxial substrate-stretching device …” and Neuroscience “Membrane Mechanical Properties Regulate the Effect of Strain on Spontaneous Electrophysiology” Well done Fabio!
